The channel, which is replacing the student station FM107.9, is said to be targeted at women under the age of 30.
Program director Susan Carter said the station has "a lot of appeal for the target audience" but admitted that there have been mixed opinions from listeners.
"The response has been very divided," she said. "People are either in the Glee camp or they are not. Female listeners love it more than male."
She added: "The world is full of doom and gloom at the moment. People want a bit of harmless, wicked fun."
Carter also revealed that there are plans to introduce a presenter in the future, saying: "We will see how it goes. It is really in the hands of the listeners. We hope it will be very successful."
The first season of Glee spawned three full-length albums, an EP based on the Madonna episode and a short record filled with tracks from the finale. Meanwhile, 'Don't Stop Believin'' peaked at number two in the UK singles chart.
