Spider Man and Men in Black III gets a deadline
A couple of tiny whispers of news this morning from the Sony front, as we learn that Untitled Spider-Man Reboot and Men In Black III both have start dates. The former starts shooting in LA in December, and the latter in September in New York.
The release dates for both are already set, of course; Spider-Man is due out on July 3, 2012, and Men In Black III is due on May 25, 2012. That means each should have more than a year post-production to get all those effects right - although in Spidey's case we're assured that they're going to go smaller with the effects than before. Maybe they're going to spend the time giving Andrew Garfield CGI acne or something, the better to remind us that he's supposed to be a teenager again.
Stepping into the webbed leotard this time will be Andrew Garfield, with Marc Webb directing and the rest of the cast yet to be set in stone. For Men In Black, Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and director Barry Sonnenfeld are joined by Josh Brolin and Jermaine Clement.
