Steven Spielberg's 'Terra Nova' going the way of 'Glee'

Fox tried out a unique way to show off a new program when they introduced "Glee"in May of 2009. Rather than forcing a show to create an audience of its own in the fall, they aired the pilot episode for the show after the "American Idol" finale in the crucial May "sweeps" period. It was a risk, but it gave the show a chance to shine in front of a massive lead-in audience.

Needless to say, this strategy worked for the gang at McKinley High -- why not try it with a Steven Spielberg project? Fox announced at their annual TCA panel Monday that they will hold off on showing the pilot episode to ambitious new show "Terra Nova" until May. It will give the show a massive audience, and will also enable people to start talking about what's happening next before it comes back in the fall of 2011.

This looks like a smart move by Fox on the surface -- they need a new hit drama with "24" gone. Are you excited to see what Spielberg will bring to the TV world?
