South Park Creators Apologize For Copying Inception Parody

So, did South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker really lift dialogue from College Humor's Inception parody for their own show's spoof? Yes, and they're admitting it. "It’s just because we do the show in six days, and we’re stupid and we just threw it together," Stone told the NYT. "But in the end, there are some lines that we had to call and apologize for." Stone says that when he and Parker decided to do their own parody of Inception, they were unable to find a copy of the film fast enough, and turned to online parodies including the College Humor video. "We thought their joke was that a lot of those lines were actually in the movie and they were banging them against each other, and showing that the Inception characters didn’t even know Inception," said Stone. "That was a mistake, and it was an honest mistake.
