Asked what's going on between the actor and the country star, Gyllenhaal's Love costar Anne Hathaway quickly interjected, mock-shouting at the reporter who inquired (seemingly in order to save her friend).
As an uncomfortable-looking Gyllenhaal kept silent, Hathaway yelled, "Hang on, hang on, I have to say something! I have been Jake's onscreen love interest for years, all right? You keep the conversation to me and only me, otherwise I'm going to get nasty!"
Gyllenhaal simply quipped, "You get Ella Enchanted pissed off ..." (Swift similarly avoided questions about her rumored beau on Ellen DeGeneres last month.)
Meanwhile, if Swift was also in New York City over the weekend, and if the pair did meet up again, they did a good job of keeping it under wraps. She was in Nashville Sunday to rehearse for the CMA Awards.
